THE MASTER BUILDER OFINDIA'S CREATIVE ECOSYSTEM

RAJESH R. TURAKHIA

Founder, Director

Over the last 25 years, industry veteran Rajesh R. Turakhia has fundamentally shaped the AVGC landscape across India. By creating and scaling pioneering educational brands like Frameboxx and MAAC, his leadership has mentored over 200,000 students—building a legacy where a vast majority of Indian studios are populated or led by artists trained directly under his tutelage.

Rajesh's journey in institutional building began in 2001 with the founding of MAAC, driven by an uncompromising commitment to elevate the standards of Indian animation. That same visionary drive led him to helm Maya Entertainment Limited (MEL) as CEO and Executive Director. Under his guidance, MEL scaled from a modest team of 8 artists to a powerhouse of 500, delivering prolific work for global giants including the BBC, Electronic Arts, MTV, Activision and many other leading studios.

During this period, he also founded '24 FPS', a revolutionary festival and competition designed to give emerging talent and professionals their due recognition on a national stage. At Frameboxx, he has carried forward this same vision through FrameFlixx, creating a contemporary platform designed to empower, showcase, and recognise today's students and creative professionals.

Refusing to settle for traditional, passive classroom models, Rajesh launched Frameboxx in 2008 and introduced a unique concept for an institute 'The Incubation Centre'—a live production floor where students tackled real client briefs and rigorous studio deadlines. To expand the institutional edge, he forged strategic academic collaborations with renowned international institutions like Seneca College in Canada and Anglia Ruskin University in the United Kingdom. Elevating his impact on national policy and curriculum standards, Rajesh served as a Governing Council Member of the Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) and a Member of the Expert Committee on Diploma Curriculum Development for the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Today, as an authorized training partner of MESC aligned to the NSDC Skill India framework, Frameboxx maintains an unyielding benchmark for academic excellence.

In 2019, that foundational promise evolved into Frameboxx 2.0 which has recently undergone a strategic evolution to focus heavily on integrating transformative, next-generation technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the creative workflow. Solidifying this forward looking vision, he recently executed a strategic tie-up with the UnitedWorld Institute of Design (UID), seamlessly merging high end design sensibilities with emerging media tech. Recognized globally including an honorary ranking in the Top 25 International Animation schools by Animation Career Review – the institution is kept razor sharp by an advisory board of industry veterans. Beyond the academy, Rajesh continues to steer the national creative economy as a member of the CII subcommittee on AVGC and immersive media and the Government's task force for the AVGC ecosystem, cementing his role as the ultimate driving force for the future of entertainment arts.
